BTAC Training was founded on the risk management principle that "Safety is no Accident".  It is based on the theory well known to the aviation community called the Accident Chain.  This states that most accidents are usually not just a one time event, but a series of poor decisions that link together until the inevitable happens.

If anywhere along the time line, a good decision is made, then the chain is broken negating the accident.  

I was in the fire service for 32 years and  spent most of my off duty time teaching various subjects such as EMT, Fire Science, Fire Command, Fire Management and the Fire Investigation Series through the State.  I developed the "Breaking the Accident Chain" class and taught it to my department after we went through a series of accidents and incidents.  I have taught the class at Firehouse World, Fresno Training Officers Symposium and at the ECHO Safety Conference in Fort Meyers Florida,
